How to Connect Your Domain to Unisolva Hosting
To make your website accessible at your domain name, you need to point your domain to Unisolva's servers. This is done by updating the nameservers on your domain to Unisolva's nameservers. This article covers how to do this regardless of where your domain is registered.
Unisolva's Nameservers
Point your domain to these nameservers to connect it to your Unisolva hosting account:
|
Nameserver |
Address |
|
Primary |
ns1.totalsolvex.com |
|
Secondary |
ns2.totalsolvex.com |
|
???? Note These nameservers are currently in use and will be updated as Unisolva's infrastructure evolves. If you are unsure which nameservers to use, log in to my.unisolva.com > Services > your hosting plan, and the correct nameservers will be displayed there. |
Step 1 - Find Your Domain's Nameserver Settings
Log in to wherever your domain is registered (your domain registrar). Common registrars include GoDaddy, Namecheap, Google Domains, Cloudflare, and others. Look for a section called:
- Nameservers
- DNS Settings
- Domain Management > Name Servers
Step 2 - Update the Nameservers
- In your registrar's control panel, find the nameserver settings for your domain
- Select the option to use Custom Nameservers (not the registrar's default nameservers)
- Delete any existing nameserver entries
- Add the two Unisolva nameservers: ns1.totalsolvex.com and ns2.totalsolvex.com
- Save the changes
|
???? Tip If your domain is registered through Unisolva (my.unisolva.com > Domains > My Domains), the nameservers may already be set correctly. Verify them there before making changes. |
Step 3 - Wait for DNS Propagation
After updating nameservers, DNS changes take time to propagate across the internet. This process can take anywhere from 15 minutes to 48 hours, though most updates reflect within 1–4 hours.
- During propagation, some visitors may see the old site and others may see the new one - this is normal
- You can check propagation status at whatsmydns.net - enter your domain and check the NS record to see which nameservers different regions are resolving
If Your Domain Is Already with Unisolva
If you registered your domain through Unisolva and also have a Unisolva hosting plan, the nameservers are typically set automatically. To verify:
- Log in to my.unisolva.com
- Go to Domains > My Domains and click on your domain
- Check that the nameservers listed are ns1.totalsolvex.com and ns2.totalsolvex.com
- If they are different, update them following the steps above
Using Cloudflare for DNS (Advanced)
If you use Cloudflare for performance and security (DDoS protection, CDN), you would point your domain to Cloudflare's nameservers instead, and then configure Cloudflare to forward traffic to your Unisolva server's IP address via an A record. If you need help setting this up, open a support ticket at my.unisolva.com.
